Welcome to the Bikes page, bikes are one of the most loved outdoor kids
toys and provide an excellent level of fun and exercise.
There are bikes that you can buy for kids of all ages online which range
from the small bikes with stabilisers for young children to the large mountain
bikes for teens and adults. Bikes are a great outdoor activity and can also
be used by the whole family for a great day out, they provide great aerobic
exercise and also strengthen the legs.
There are several things to look for when you buy a bike online and the most
important is the size as you have to be sure that your child will be able
to ride the bike. Most bikes are adjustable though at the seat and handle
bars and so you can adjust the bike as the child grows but they will eventually
outgrow the bike and so it is best to buy the largest bike possible so that
you will get plenty of use out of the bike.
For larger bikes also look at the amount of gears that the bike has as the
more gears a bike has the more easy it is to ride as the rider has more gears
to choose from and therefore can more likely get the right great for their
conditions. This is especially important in hilly areas as gears make it
much easier to peddle when going up a hill and more gears also make cycling
faster easier as the bike will likely have larger gears too. Also look at
the weight of the bike as this will affect how the bike rides and how easy
it is to carry which can be very important on long cycling trips.
When buying a bike also consider the safety aspects
to ensure that your kids remain safe on their bikes. You should at least
buy a helmet
as falling from a bike and hitting the head can be very dangerous and you
should also consider elbow and knee pads as these are the likely points
of impact should you child fall from their bike.
